Florida Green Watersnake

Nerodia floridana

Average size:  30-55 inches; Record 74 inches.  Young are 8-10
inches at birth.

Range:  Most of the Florida peninsula excluding the central to upper northeast part of the peninsula.  Also found in the eastern half of the panhandle.

Diet:  Mainly fish and frogs.

Status:  Common  

Can be found in swamps and marshes, mainly quite bodies of water.
